Hi, so I got a DUI sometime ago back in 2011. And thanks to a lot of fine paying and what not, I'm finally eligible to get my driving license reinstated.

Now here's my problem. The DOL requires of you a form called an SR-22 to basically let them know your vehicle is insured, and this form can only be obtained from the insurance provider. After waiting on the phone for oh so long the customer service representative told me that their insurance company doesn't hand out SR-22 forms!

Right now I'm under my parents insurance policy who's auto insurance is with this Amereprise. The gist of my story is, in order for me to get my license reinstated I would have to get my own insurance with a company that does, and end up paying double what I give my parents all because Ameriprise.

Location: Vancouver, Washington

No, all because you got a dui. Same thing happened to me when I was 16.

Parents insurance company dropped me, my insurance went from $200 a year to $1200. Time to grow up, your parent's shouldn't have to support you forever.

switch to get the form and then get your license then switch back to your parents insurance

All great except you need the SR-22 for 3 years.. Your method won't work!
